About Us The business grew up from Delivering ready to eat meals to community meetings and events, private parties and functions requiring specially tailored and excellently prepared meals appropriate to the theme and purpose of the event and guests. Delivering to Seminars, Meetings, Working Lunches, Networking meetings, Domestic occasions. We have now also strengthened the service for corporate needs, major functions and events and special occasions, not forgetting private parties and family occasions, delivering across London. We were delighted to cater for the BBC 'Africa on your street' launch party in April 2004 and the provision of appropriate catering was most hailed in the feedback of the event. We also in August 2004 completed a catering engagement for the Stone Sculpture Art Exhibition, at the Oxo Tower London Gallery, with an organisation working with Zimbabwean women sculptors, 'In praise of Women'. The furthest so far the crew have gone has been to Birmingham, and the service included set up, decoration and catering for wedding of Julius and Fiona. It gave us confidence we can surely go to 'any' venue.. The highlight of the year 2004 event was a wedding for friends Enoch and Philipa at the glamorous Gibson Hall near Liverpool Street in Central London. Among the 650 guests were the royal families from Uganda and a true global union for many. Settling in the UK in early 1990s, it was hard to come across African food, and expecting it in a function and events was not heard of, despite the population proportion of African people in the community and even in the events or functions. Things have progressed to where a substantial quantity of African and Afro Carribean food is being imported and we are pursuing its provision in the dining market, hence an increasing number of catering services and African restaurants now available. In 2003 we ventured, against financial hardships, to open our first African fine dinner restaurant. It is a well refurbished and set up venue for a warm ambience and dedicated catering for the public to enjoy African food in an excellent atmosphere. This will be our base for expansion. We are now well recommended caterers for community themed catering and service a number of meetings and events of Primanry Care Trusts and other Community Organisations. We continue to strengthen the service to organisations and deliver catering to across London, typically for Anniversaries, AGMs, Nationally celebrated days, and company special events.. Our vision is to grow the popularity and provision of African Cuisine as an excellent alternative in the market and be representative of the ethnic diversity in our communities and cities. We have now incorporated the Business to trade as a private limited company under the directorship of my husband Charles and I. If in anyway you would be interested in contributing or working to this common good, please join our efforts through the work of African Caterers & Restaurateurs Association. The highlight of 2005 has no doubt been the exposure we have accorded the excellece of African cuisne, and the awards and honourable recognition we have received in so doing. We continue to endevour to strengthen the provision locally and hoping to establish across London, across communities and hopefully in the near future to be a national provider We therefore look forward in 2006 and the coming years to expand services to as many organizations as possible, providing food for events, conferences, seminars, as well as seeking to introduce some of the dishes to the high street and main stream retail access. It has been positively fed back to us that the provision of a good meal we have provided has been a remarkable incentive to the staff members and guests participating in the events and meetings, or simply a family feast. We look to find investors in Capital and or Expertise, to take the company and the venture to expansion, to avail the cuisine in most high streets, Hotels, institutions, as we believe the authenticity and quality of African food will be a preferable choice in the dining market. We look to impress the need to train and inspire many to specialise in the African food sector and the colleges to begin to offer opportunity for many who would be inspired. We also look to pioneer and inspire many, both in the food sector, business venturing, particularly for Ethnic minorities needing inspirations to start up even with modest or difficult personal circumstances, to dare to succeed. We will be using our restaurant venues for local business forums, Networking and helping to mobilise as many aspirants as possible. We look to reach many communities and faith groups working with pastors and church Leaders to reach many who would otherwise not be reached to inspire them to venturing, and turning their ideas to business. |
